Women's Tennis Sweeps Georgia State in Atlanta

ATLANTA – The Troy women's tennis ended its three-match skid on Saturday with a sweeping victory over Georgia State. Troy's 4-0 win over the Panthers moves its record to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the Sun Belt Conference while Georgia State falls to 2-17 on the year.
Saturday's match was moved indoors due to inclement weather in Atlanta. The move indoors didn't affect the Trojans though as they got started with some early momentum in doubles. Following a win by default on court three and a win by GSU on court one, Troy was able to secure the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two by the duo of Michelle Ncube and Andrea Widing.
Similar to doubles, Troy got an early advantage thanks to two default wins on courts five and six, giving the Trojans a quick 3-0 advantage in the match. Troy was able to secure the final point, and the match, with a strong 6-0, 6-3 win on court four from Kristina Kukaras. Since the two teams agreed to play ti clicnh, matches on courts 1-3 were left unfinished following Kukaras victory.
Troy will be back on the courts against Georgia Southern on Sunday at 10 a.m. (CT) to close out their regular season.
