Hamm Leads Men's Golf Following Day One of Spring Opener

STATESBORO, Ga. – Brent Hamm fired a 4-over 148 to lead Troy in Sunday's opening two rounds of the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course.

Hamm shot a 3-over 75 in the opening round before a strong afternoon session where he carded a 1-over 73. He enters Monday's final round in sixth place and just three shots back of a pair tied for third.

The entire 32-player field all played as individuals in what is serving as the opening event to the spring schedule for the Trojans. Will McFadden shot even par in the opening round and was fourth on the leaderboard before slipping into a tie for 11^th place following an 8-over 80 in the second round.

Bryson Bianco carded rounds of 77 and 78 to finish 11-over and is tied for 17^th place, Ryan Morrison is tied for 22^nd place at 13-over par after rounds of 77 and 80, Mac Suber made his collegiate debut and shot 22-over on the day while George Burch finished the day at 23-over par.

Players are back on the course for 18 holes Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 7:15 a.m. (CT).
