TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team had another solid day of round robin play at the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Sunday.
The second day of the event started on the doubles courts where Sanae Ohta and partner Nancy Karaky walked away with a dominant 6-1 win over Central Arkansas. While Efriliya Herlina and freshman Pei Ju Hsieh were narrowly defeated, Matea Mihaljevic and Maria Casas Blas ended doubles play with a default victory.
In singles, Ohta fell after a hard fought match 7-5, 6-4 from an opponent from Murray State. Other seniors, Karaky and Herlina both earned key wins to regain momentum. After winning her first set Mihaljevic dropped the second set and tiebreaker as Murray State walked away with the win on court four, but Troy rallied back as Casas Blas and Hsieh both ended the day with victories.
