Marc Skinner Named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Mid-Season Watch List

TROY, Alabama – Troy senior closer Marc Skinner has been named to the 40-man National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Mid-Season Watch List, the NCBWA announced Wednesday.

Skinner has been dominant this season for the Trojans with 10 saves to go along with a 3-3 record and 1.19 ERA. The Phenix City, Ala., native has struck out 34 batters in his 30.1 innings of work and has allowed only six extra-base hits. Skinner has allowed just four earned runs all season with three coming when he pitched for multiple innings.
He closed out Troy's 5-2 victory at No. 5 Auburn Tuesday night in what was his 18th career save in his 102nd career appearance as a Trojan – both of those marks tied Troy career records.

Skinner is tied for 14th nationally with 10 saves this season, while he ranks fourth among active players for his career appearances and 18th for his career save tally.

Troy has won five straight games heading into this weekend's series at defending national champion Coastal Carolina.
