Troy Volleyball Travels to South for In-State Rivalry

TROY, Alabama- Troy (6-12, 1-3 SBC) looks to use its momentum following a big five-set victory against Georgia State over the weekend as the Trojans head into Jaguar territory to face South Alabama (9-5, 4-0 SBC) on Wednesday, October 4 at 6 p.m.

Trojans jumped out in front early with a set one win, but the Panthers continued to fight back and answer each time the Trojans took a lead in order to force a fifth set. Troy was able to take a 10-7 lead after a six-point run and capped the match with a four-point run as the Trojans won their first Sun Belt match of the season.

Sophomore Logan Page paced the Trojans in their 3-2 victory over Georgia State with a career-high 18 kills, .680 attack percentage and 22.5 points. She also dominated at the net with a team-high seven blocks, her second seven-block match of the season.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
The Jaguars have started the season off strong posting a 9-5 overall record against some tough opponents and have gone undefeated so far in conference play. South is led by sophomore Iva Durdanovic who has delivered 135 kills (2.65 kills/set). Troy looks to improve on a 24-21 all-time record against the Jaguars. The teams' last meeting was in 2016 as the Trojans defeated the Jaguars 3-1 in the Trojan Arena.

NOTEWORTHY

Page's 18 kills, .680 hitting percentage, and 22.5 points are all career-highs, as well a season-highs for the Trojans. Her .680 attack percentage is the second highest from a Sun Belt player this season.
The Trojans posted their 100^th ace of the season last match against Georgia State.
Troy's 100 aces rank third in the conference. Kiara Barrett and Cheyenne Hayes are tied for fourth in the Sun Belt with 22 aces each.
Troy leads its opponents in kills (823-721), assists (765-651), aces (100-78), and digs (773-770).
Sophomore setter, Kiara Barrett posted her second double-double of the season in Troy's last outing posting 24 assists and 10 digs.

Troy will return home to host the Jags in the Trojan Arena Saturday, October 7 at 4 p.m. for the Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The team will also host a youth volleyball clinic following the match. Admission to all Troy volleyball matches is free.
