Troy Basketball Announces Fan Day On Saturday

TROY, Alabama – The Sun Belt Champion Troy men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting Basketball Fan Day this Saturday as part of the festivities of Homecoming weekend. From 1-2 p.m. in Tailgate Terrace, fans will have the opportunity to meet both reigning Sun Belt Championship teams and get autographs from both squads on this year's team posters.
Season ticket information will be available for interested fans for both teams as well as pocket schedules for fans to keep. Fans have their first chance to catch the teams in action on Wednesday, Nov. 1, as the teams will host an exhibition doubleheader in Trojan Arena. The Troy women will take on AUM beginning at 5:15 p.m. and the Troy men will host Georgia Southwestern State at 7:30 p.m.; admission to both games is free.
The men's basketball team had the best wins-turnaround in school history last season to become the first team in Sun Belt history to win four games in the Sun Belt Tournament against higher-seeded opponents. The Trojans advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003 and took on Duke in the opening round.
Last season also saw the women's team win the conference tournament for the second consecutive season. Coach Chanda Rigby led the team to 20 wins or more for the third-consecutive year as the Trojans advanced to their second straight NCAA Tournament where they took on eventual national runner-up Mississippi State in the opening round.
