Troy’s Shot at Regular Season Title Washed Away; Enter Tourney as No. 2 Seed

MOBILE, Alabama – The Troy baseball team could only watch as heavy rains washed away its shot at the regular season Sun Belt Conference title in Mobile on Saturday.
After thunderstorms postponed game two of the three-game series on Friday, both games of Saturday's doubleheader were also rained out ensuring South Alabama the regular season crown and Troy the second seed in next week's Sun Belt Conference tournament at Riddle-Pace Field.
The Trojans (30-23, 18-10 Sun Belt) will enter the tournament having winners of their last four Sun Belt Conference games. The team will host the conference tournament at Riddle-Pace Field where they have won 10 straight league games and finished with a 21-10 overall record.
Troy will take on seventh-seeded UT Arlington on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
