Troy Track and Field's Alexus Cobbs Takes Top-15 Finish at Penn Relays

PHILADEPHIA, Pennsylvania – Thursday marked the first day of competition for the Trojans at the historic Penn Relays. Troy had athletes represented in the women's long jump and two relays during the days events.

Alexus Cobbs completed the first of her two individual events at the Relays with a twelfth place finish in the women's long jump with a 5.59-meter jump. Aleeah Stigarll also competed in the long jump for the Trojans, finishing with a 5.31-meter leap.

Cobbs ran the second leg of Troy's 4x100 relay along with Cameia Alexander, Paige McMillan and Sydney Wright on Thursday. The group placed second in their heat with a time of 47.80 seconds, and placed 34th overall among almost 100 participating teams.

McMillan and Wright joined Niata Alexander and Dallas Worthy in the evening for the women's 4x400 relay race. The team finished with a time of 3:57.93.

Tomorrow the women's 4x200 relay team will compete at 1:00 p.m. In the field, Corina Cox will participate in the women's discus throw championship at 10:30 a.m., while Cobbs will once again represent the Trojans in the women's triple jump at 3:00 p.m.
