Five Troy Track and Field Athletes Qualify for NCAA Prelims

TROY, Ala. – Five individuals from the Troy men's and women's track and field programs have qualified to compete in seven events at the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships.

The Trojans will compete in the East region meet, which will be held May 29-31 at North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The top 12 competitors in each event will move on to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.

The Troy men's team will send four student-athletes to the meet, including Benjamin Martin in the 100-meter dash and Jordan Landburg in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. This is both Martin and Landburg's second consecutive appearance at the regional.

In the men's field events, sophomore Myles Charley will compete in both the men's long jump and triple jump, while Zach Douglas qualified for the men's shot put.

Corina Cox will compete in the women's discus, rounding out the women's competitors.
