TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team will close its regular season with a pair of matches this week, including Senior Day on Friday. The Trojans will first travel to UAB on Thursday for a 1:30 p.m. match. They will then host Columbus State at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 2 p.m. on Friday.
Troy (7-15) just missed knocking off a ranked opponent in its last match, falling 4-3 at No. 57 UCF. Prior to that, the Trojans defeated Jacksonville State, 4-0, on the road last Wednesday.
The Trojans haven't played at home since March 22 when they closed a four-match homestand with a 3-1 record.
Troy will honor four seniors on Friday, as Mansingh Athare, Tommy Cundy, Tadju Davies and Sami Ghorbel all play in their final match at the Lunsford Tennis Complex
However, the Trojans will first travel to UAB (11-7) looking to avenge a loss from just two weeks ago. The Trojans fell to the Blazers in the first round of Middle Tennessee Shootout on March 28, 4-1.
Following Thursday's match in Birmingham, Columbus State (15-3) will visit Troy. The Cougars, NCAA Division II members, are ranked 14th in the ITA National Team Rankings.
The two matches will close the regular season for Troy who will travel to New Orleans to open the Sun Belt Championships on Friday, April 18.
