Trojans Travel for Pair of Weekend Matches

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Troy men's tennis team will travel to Southern Miss this weekend for a pair of matches. The Trojans will take on Southern Miss on Friday at 1 p.m. before playing Lamar on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Troy (1-6) is coming off of a tough, 4-3, loss at Nicholls State last Saturday. Gabriel Sciacca Dias picked up a win over a ranked opponent in No. 69 Nico Mertens, but it wasn't enough for the Trojans.

Southern Miss (5-5) hasn't played in over a week since a loss at South Alabama. The Golden Eagles have lost three of their last four matches, but all three losses come on the road against Ole Miss, LSU and the Jaguars.

Lamar (6-5) started its season 6-2, but lost three matches last weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. The Cardinals dropped decisions against USC Upstate, TCU and San Francisco.
