Troy Baseball to Host Ontario Blue Jays in Sunday Exhibition

TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team will take a break from intrasquad action this weekend as they play host to the Ontario Blue Jays on Sunday at noon at Riddle-Pace Field. Admission to the exhibition game is free.

The Trojans opened fall practice on Sept. 30 and have been mixing intrasquad games around practices each week.

Troy returns several key players from last year's team including Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year Marc Skinner and All-Sun Belt designated hitter David Hall. The Trojans welcome 16 new faces including Chipola College transfer and MLB-draftee Tucker Simpson. The 6-6, 235-pound right-handed pitcher started his career at the University of Florida before opting for junior college. Simpson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 39th round of the most recent MLB draft but chose the Trojans over starting his professional career.
