Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Rain-Shortened AutoTrader.com Classic

DULUTH, Georgia – Troy shot a 7-under 569 over Monday's opening two rounds of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic at the Berkeley Hills Country Club and that would be good for a fourth-place finish as rain washed out Tuesday's final round. Senior Phillip Brennan led the Trojans as he finished tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard.
Brennan fired a 3-under 69 in the second round to move within four shots of Carter Jenkins from UNC Greensboro at the top of the leaderboard. Troy finished just seven shots back of UNCG for the team title, while VCU finished second three shots back and Chattanooga was third at six shots back.
Brennan sank a team-high seven birdies during his second round, including four on the front nine. He played his first round at 1-under with three birdies and finished at 4-under for the tournament.
Jake Tucker carded a 1-under in the first round with a birdie and an eagle and shot even par in the second round. He tied for 14th place and was a shot ahead of teammate Jared Bettcher who tied for 19th after shooting a 75 and 69 on Monday. Luke Moser carded matching 73s and tied for 34th place with teammate Tolver Dozier who shot a 71 and a 75. Competing as an individual, Clayton Vannoy tied for 72nd place after shooting a 160.
Troy's final tournament of the fall will take place in College Grove, Tenn., on Oct. 26-28 as the Trojans compete in the Intercollegiate at The Grove.
