Sun Belt Weekly Release
NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference Office announced their weekly awards for the outdoor track and field season, and for the third consecutive week, the Troy University track and field program has been rewarded for their efforts this season.
Junior Terrell Irons became the third Trojan, joining Ja-Courtney Alexander and Martins Pildavs, to win a weekly award this year from the Sun Belt.
Irons easily won his first competition of the season, competing in the triple jump at the FSU Relays. After missing the first two meets to concentrate on academic work, Irons debuted with a jump of 15.04 meters (49-4.25) to win the triple jump. The jump is the second-longest jump in the SBC this season, and is currently the 24th best jump in the nation.
The Trojans return to action this week in Auburn at the Tiger Track Classic.
