Starkville, MS. - The Trojan rodeo team was back in action this past weekend, after an extended period of rest, at Mississippi State.
"The weekend went really well," said head coach Josh Simmons, "we came out strong."
Both men's and women's teams saw their standings improve after this weekend's event. The women's team finished in second place, while the men's rodeo finished the weekend in third place.
Marla Jane Seidelman finished the event in second place in women's all-around, while Stetson Aldridge and Kyle Wyatt both placed in the men's all-around.
For the women's team Allyson Hayes landed third place in barrel racing and Whitney Hazouri finished first in breakaway roping. For the men, Stetson Aldridge completed tie down roping in third place while Mark Gentry finished third in team roping heeler.
The Trojans are hoping to continue this success into the next event at Tennessee Martin next weekend.
"We have nothing really to improve on, we've just ran into a little misfortune here and there, but all in all the teams are performing well and we're hoping to carry it on into the next event," said coach Simmons.
The Trojans are back in the rink April 15 - 17 at Tennessee Martin in Martin, TN.
