Trojans Hit Floor Monday Against Army

TROY, Ala. - The Troy women look to bounce back from consecutive heartbreaking conference losses, when they return to the floor Monday night in non-conference action against Army. It will be the second meeting between the two schools, but the first at Trojan Arena, with Army holding a 1-0 advantage after claiming at 72-48 victory at Chrsti Arena three years ago.
Troy (7-4, 1-2 Sun Belt) has lost back-to-back conference games entering the tilt on Monday night, with the game being the second in three days - and the second of three in five days. The Trojans hit the road at the conclusion of the game for a southern swing in the state of Florida to conclude the week (five games in 11 days).
The Trojans fell to ULM, missing a 3-pointer at the buzzer, after trailing by as many as 15 in the second half. They missed two opportunites on Saturday against Denver in the waning seconds after leading by 11 in the second half.
Troy will looking for the fifth victory in six games at Trojan Arena this season, and will be looking for their eighth victory in 11 non-conference games this season. The Trojans are paced by three players in double figures, led Donette McNair at over 13 points per game and nine rebounds game. Senior Alyce Shearing and Brittnie Davis are also averaging over 10 points per game in 11 games so far this season.
The game can be heard on WTBF-94.7 FM with Buddy Johnson providing the play-by-play, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 pm. Live stats and webstreaming will be available from Trojan Arena on Monday night.
Admission is free at Trojan Arena for the contest, as there will be a canned food drive at the entrance to the arena on Monday night.
