Denton, Tx - The Troy Trojans softball team was swept by the North Texas Mean Green in a three-game series.
"We just didn't hit the ball well in the entire series," Trojans head coach Melanie Davis said. "We're going to have to work on that at practice before these next games."
The Trojans fell in game three to the Mean Green, 6-0.
Ashley Lail of North Texas tossed a no-hitter against the Trojans on the mound en route to the victory.
"This league is tough from top to bottom," Davis said. "Hats off to Ashley Lail. She came to play today."
Ashlyn Williams got the start on the mound for Troy. Williams lasted four innings in the game. She allowed three hits, three runs and struck out six batters.
Allison Moore came in to relieve Williams. Moore pitched two innings. She allowed three runs and five hits and struck out one batter.
The series loss is the first for the Trojans in the Sun Belt season. The sweep is the first against the Trojans in the season overall.
Troy faces a busy week ahead. Troy hosts Florida State on Tuesday, Northwestern State on Wednesday and the Trojans travel to Lafayette, Louisiana on Friday for a weekend Sun Belt showdown with the Ragin Cajuns.
