ITA Regionals Underway Thursday

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The ITA Southern Regional is set to begin play on Thursday morning in the Crescent City, with the tournament being played at two different sites - the Goldring Tennis Complex (Tulane) and the New Orleans Tennis Center (UNO).
Mario Rolemberg (Silva) begins play for the Trojans in the opening round (Round of 128) against David Roberts from LSU on the Tulane University campus, while his teammate Branko Weber will be playing Alex Jorne of Auburn across town at the University of New Orleans at 8 am.
Meanwhile, Xavier Masson will be a few courts down from Weber on Thursday morning as he battles Evan Magill of Centenary in the opening round; while his teammate Guilherme Sahadi will face Auburn's Davis Taylor on the same set of courts at New Orleans at 8 am.
Bastian Maucher, possibly the hottest player on the team this fall with his victory earlier this month, received a bye to the Round of 64. In the second round, he will face Neal Skupski of LSU at 8 am at the University of New Orleans. Along with Maucher, Aurelien Tave will face Julien Gauthier of LSU at 8 am at the University of New Orleans courts.
All of the players in action this morning, will be action again later in the morning if they win their matches at the same courts.
Doubles play also starts on Thursday, but will be played in the afternoon hours at both Tulane and New Orleans. The tournament will feature teams from Alabama, Auburn, Centenary, Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, New Orleans, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane and UAB.
