Riddle Me This, Batman!

Okay, so the first road game is in the books as a “W” and we all made it home safely... maybe not punctually, but we're all safe! So, I have some riddles for you to describe the days leading up to this game (with no relevance to time or importance):
1. What do you get when you try to divide 45 into 8 at 1:30 a.m.? Put your calculators away because this one doesn't follow the "My Dear Aunt Sally" rule of division and the time is a critical factor in the equation.
When you try to divide 45 players from a disabled bus into 8 buses that already are occupied by more than 350 band members, you get about an hour on the side of the road with blue lights blinking, red hazard triangles and a little confusion.
Thank heavens for the Sound of the South! Not only are they the best source for the Fight Song, they're also lifesavers. Bus two was disabled south of Decatur and they sacrificed time and comfort to accommodate players, coaches and staff on their already crowded buses.
MANY, MANY THANKS!
2. What is a significant difference between Troy, Ala., and Nashville, Tenn.?
Hills! My game day routine includes a leisurely jog to prepare myself mentally for the day ahead. Since the Marriott Airport was a new venue for me, I had to endure a few hills that I would have otherwise tried to avoid. Between that and the couple of miles I ran on the sideline before, during, and after the game, my legs are less than well today!
3. What do you get when you forget important stuff on the bus after you're dropped off but before the game actually starts?
A 20 minute golf cart excursion to find the buses and the items in question. The batteries to the water caddies were left on the bus that must have been parked in Franklin, Tenn., instead of the nearest lot. Thankfully, though, they were retrieved with little problem and time lost.
If that was our only flub of the game, we did great. The athletic training students will be a fine-tuned machine if they stay on course with the way they started the year!
Happy Belated Birthday to the Game Captain, Josh Wood! He spent his birthday packing the Covan!
4. How many stoplights are there between TROY and Nashville and between Nashville and Murfreesboro?
None for which we had to stop. Our travel caravan consists of two Alabama State Trooper vehicles surrounding three buses, which stop for no one. That is the coolest part of the trips: riding through towns with lights and sirens and watching people on the side of the road with puzzled looks on their faces. I think it's our taste of celebrity status, if only for a day or two!
OR it's a TROJAN parade through all the Sun Belt towns.
Loves it!
5. Who has the best steak in Nashville?
That would be the Stockyard, and it could quite possible be the best steak I've ever tasted! I recommend the filet, Oscar-style! I'm sure the company did have something to do with the good time we had at dinner Wednesday night. Our party consisted of Richard Shaughnessy, Skaakira Hassell, Charles Ward, Steve Ridenhour, Ken Kelly, Wayne Floyd and, of course, little old me.
The first two are strength and conditioning coaches. The other four mentioned would be formally known as “Sir” when they're asking you for your license and registration through an open car window on the side of the road. They were a hoot to be around and I look forward to many more trips in their company.
6. What building in the Nashville skyline looks like Batman?
I'll let you look at the skyline and figure it out! I love seeing the Batman Building and know everyone in the Tahoe was glad when we finally made it to Nashville so I would stop talking about it! I love me some Nashville...
I guess that's enough for today. I'll surely have more to talk about in the next few days with the threat of Gustav and the big trip to LSU on the horizon. Until then, have a great day or two...and as always:
GO TROJANS!
Alyson
