Trojans Face FAU in Conference Series

BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Troy Trojans have swept two of the last three conference series and look to continue their wining ways with a three game conference series this weekend with Florida Atlantic.

“I am ready to see how we bounce back after Tuesday night's loss,” head coach Bobby Pierce said. “FAU is a very good team and we will have to hit and pich well to be able to win against them.”

The Trojans currently sit in second with the Owls in sole possession of third place in the Sun Belt Conference standings and can jump ahead of second place Troy with a series win this weekend.

The Trojans swept FAU last season in Boca with three convincing wins. Troy swept Arkansas State at home last weekend to push its record to 9-3 in league play and 20-13 overall.

FAU enters the contest fresh off a win over top-ranked Miami, 6-3 Wednesday night.

Troy will send sophomore Tim Wheeler (2-4, 4.93 ERA) to the hill Friday night with senior Ryan Ellison (1-1, 5.42 ERA) toeing the rubber on Saturday.

First pitch Friday night is set for 6 pm CT. Saturday's game will start at 3 pm CT with the Sunday finale beginning at noon CT.
