TROY, Ala. - When Troy University plays hosts to the USTA Women's Classic of Troy semifinals and finals this weekend, the matches can be heard via the internet.
The tournament semifinals and finals will be carried live by RadioTennis.com today and Sunday from the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
RadioTennis.com produces live audio play-by-play web casts of professional tennis from around the world, via the Internet (much like the BBC does with Wimbledon). The company webcasts the US Open, ATP master Series Events, WTA Tier I Events, the NCAA Championships, World Team Tennis as well as USTA, Bermuda and Mexican Tennis Federation Pro Circuit Events.
"Radiotennis.com is a great venue to tell the Troy University story," Associate Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communication, Sandra Gouge said. "It is a great way to reinforce physical activity and to showcase this athletic tournament."
RadioTennis.com anticipates being on the air for approximately 14-16 hours over this two day period. The company will also issue two "on now" e-mail blasts on October 4 and 5.
The tournament concludes on Sunday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
