Defense Outshines Offense in Victory

It took nearly 28 minutes, but with 2:33 remaining in the first half the Troy Trojans (3-2, 2-0 SBC) finally cracked the scoreboard when Boris Lee picked off a pass and took it 28 yards into the end zone for the first touchdown of his career.
“This was a great win. I've never been a part of any bad wins,” coach Larry Blakeney said.
“This was a three phase win. The defense came from low performances to playing well tonight,” he said. “The offense started slow, but Omar played well enough for us to win.”
The interception was Lee's second of the season, and the fifth of his career. Lee finished the game with 12 total tackles to go along with the interception.

The Trojans took the opening drive of the second half and marched 85 yards in 17 plays to pick up their first offensive touchdown of the game.
With 10:04 remaining Omar Haugabook connected with Kennard Burton for a four-yard touchdown pass, making the score 14-0.
Haugabook completed 29-of-49 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions.
On the ensuing drive the Warhawks would make an extended drive of their own going 70 yards in ten plays. Zeek Zacharie would be on the receiving end of a Kinsmon Lancaster touchdown pass with 5:13 remaining in the third quarter.

Banks lead the Trojan receiving corp with eight catches for 97 yards. Allen finished with five catches for 65 yards and the touchdown.
DuJuan Harris led
In just his second game as the starting punter, Greg Whibbs pinned three punts inside the 20 yard line and had two punts over 50 yards for a 44-yard average.
“Whibbs is doing a great job in the kicking game, we are very proud of him,” Blakeney said.
