Trojans Fall to USA, 6-2

Heidi Johnson was 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Trojans (39-19, 15-9 SBC) offensively.
Stacey Dwyer was 1-for-3 with a double. She scored Troy's other run on a Courtney Davis (1-for-2) RBI single.
Angela Lopez (18-8) was charged with her eighth loss of the season. She pitched three and two-thirds innings allowing four earned runs on eight hits.
She struck out two batters and walked one.
Michelle Grinage (1.2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER) and Heather Rush (1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K) both pitched in relief for the Trojans.
South Alabama (36-21, 12-11 SBC) was led offensively by Evelyne Pare (4-for-4, 1 RBI) and Tara Donaldson (2-for-2, 1 RBI).
With the loss the Trojans drop to third in the final Sun Belt Conference standings and will play Western Kentucky in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Tournament play will begin in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on Wednesday with the Trojans facing the Hilltoppers at 10 am.
