After dropping the first two games to Louisiana Lafayette, the Trojans broke out the bats in a 14-4 drumming on Sunday. Troy pounded out 16 hits off of five Cajun pitchers.
Junior Ryan Ellison got the start on the mound for Troy. He threw three innings, giving up two runs on three hits while striking out four batters. Dew (6-0) came on in relief to finish the game and get the win. He threw five compete innings and struck out a career-high eight batters. Dew gave up two runs on seven hits.
The Trojans were led at the plate by Weidlich and Miller who had three hits each. Weidlich also added three RBI. Craze, Tyre, and Fujita each had two hits.
The Ragin' Cajuns put up 13 runs in two innings to sink the Trojans 13-3, Friday night.
The Trojans used a late inning only to fall short as they fell to Louisiana Lafayette 4-3 Saturday.
Troy got on the board in the eighth inning on a two-run home run from senior Edgar Ramirez. Ramirez plated senior Ian craze who reached on a single. Troy left two runners on base in the eighth and a total of eight on the afternoon. The Trojans out hit the Cajuns on the day. Sophomore Beau Brooks hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth to close the gap to 4-3.
Senior Clegg Snipes took the loss on the mound for Troy. He went seven innings and gave up three runs on four hits while striking out seven.
Troy fell to the Owls 1-0 in 13 innings on April 3.
Kennesaw State-Mike Sansing- In 2006, the Owls' first year competing in Division I, Sansing guided KSU to a 37-22 record. Under Sansing's guidance, Kennesaw State has accumulated a 632-258 record for a .710 winning percentage. Including his three years as head coach of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, Sansing has an all-time record of 735-314 and a .701 winning percentage.
