Trojans Defeat Ragin' Cajuns

TROY, Ala - The Troy volleyball team kicked off weekend play with a conference win against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Troy is now 12-10 for the season and 3-3 in conference play.
The Trojans aggressive play added another loss to the Ragin Cajuns who are now on a five match losing streak.
"Tonight I felt the girls did not play to their potential, however ULL raised our level of play so we could be ready for tomorrows match," Head Coach Sonny Kirkpatrick said.
Tonights match consisted of three games with scores of, 30-25, 30-24, and 30-27.
Sophomore Meghan Gilroy led the Trojans with 16 kills followed by junior Jean McCarthy with 11 kills.
Freshman Megan Henderson recorded 41 assists that led Troy to victory.
Troy will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. against New Orleans. The Trojans plan to bounce back after a loss last season with a score of, 3-0.
"For tomorrows match the girls are going to need to play better in all aspects," Kirkpatrick said. " New Orleans is a really good team and will show us where we stand competing at a higher level."
Following Saturdays game the Trojans will end their conference weekend competing against Louisiana-Monroe on Sunday at 1 p.m.
