Morales Wins to Advance

TULSA, Okla. - Senior Irving Morales defeated the No. 1 seed in qualifying to advance to the second round of qualifying at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships.
Morales defeated Ralph Knupfer of Rice, currently ranked 52nd in the country, 6-4, 6-4 on Monday morning to advance to the next round.
This was the breakthrough win Irving's been looking for; it was a solid win for him. It is time for him to play with continued confidence,” head coach Eric Hayes said.
Morales will face Brian Hung of Michigan on Tuesday in the second round of qualifying. When the time for that match has been set it will be posted on www.troytrojans.com.
Qualifying for the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships ends on Wednesday, Oct. 4, with the main draw beginning on Oct. 5 and ending on Sunday, Oct. 8.
