Late Goal Pushes Trojans to 2-1 Win over Northwestern State

The Trojans (2-2-0) fell behind early, giving up a goal in the fourth minute when Marliese scored on an assist by Erin Herbert to put Northwestern State (4-4) up 1-0.
Troy rebounded, scoring in the 22nd minute on a goal by Brittany Stoltz, assisted by Emily Cobb.
The game remained tied at one until the 86th minute, when Jenna Mosher scored unassisted to give Troy the 2-1 advantage and eventually the win.
This is a good win for us,” Troy head coach Diana Niland said. I'm proud of the way we fought back after giving up the early goal. It was a hard-played match by both teams.” Laura Longard allowed one goal and recorded seven saves in the win for the Trojans.
The Trojans will return to action on Sunday when they play against Lousiana Monroe at noon.
