TROY, Ala. - The Troy University women's basketball team will look to remain unbeaten when they host in-state rival Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Trojans enter the game at 2-0, marking the first time since the 1991-92 season that the Trojans have been perfect two games into the season.
The game with BSC is the second of three straight games against in-state opponents for Troy. The Trojans are coming off an 81-79 win over Jacksonville State on Nov. 22, and they will play at Samford in their first road game of the season on Friday.
The Trojans have had four players score in double figures in each of their games. Amy Lewis led Troy with a career-high 23 points in the win over Jacksonville State. Senior Alecia Jones has notched double-doubles in both games, including a 16-point, 12-rebound effort in the game against JSU.
Birmingham-Southern (1-2) are coming off its first win of the season after beating Florida Atlantic 74-66 in the Sheraton Birmingham Hotels Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday.
The Trojans lead the all-time series with BSC, 3-1. Troy won the last meeting 57-50 in Birmingham on Nov. 23, 2004. The Panthers won the last time the teams met in Troy, topping the Trojans 63-53 on Dec. 3, 2003.
