Stoltz's third goal of the afternoon was another short shot as The Citadel's Brit Bunnell moved out of position and Stoltz took advantage of the open net.
Brittany is a very dangerous player,” Trojan head coach Diana Niland said. She's a great target, and she's also great at creating her own shots. Today she had two short shots, which is uncharacteristic of her play. Usually she's blasting long shots. She's able to create things for herself, but she also has the vision and is skilled enough to see things for her teammates. I think that showed today.”
The Trojans out shot The Citadel 22-5. Longard recorded two saves in her second shutout of the year.
The 5-0 score gives TROY its largest margin of victory this season, as the Trojans move to 2-3-1 on the year.
I'm very happy with the level of play and commitment to attacking that we showed today,” said Niland. We beat a pretty good team today, and it was a real team victory. Everyone who played contributed to this win.”
TROY returns to action on Wed., Sept. 15, when they host Alabama State at 4 p.m. at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
