Women's Golf Claims Title at Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

Final Results
MORGANTON, N.C. – Led by a trio of top-11 individual finishes, the Troy women's golf team claimed its first team title under first-year head coach Randy Keck as the Trojans won the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate at the Mimosa Hills Country Club. Troy shot 10-over in Monday's final round to erase a two-shot deficit and claim the championship.
"We played really well and it's nice to see that trophy in the front seat as we head home," Keck said. "We didn't do anything fancy. We hit the ball around the hole a lot and just took care of business. We're riding some good momentum right now and are starting to string some good rounds together. Hopefully we're peaking at the right time as we head into the Sun Belt Championship in a couple weeks."
The Trojans entered Monday tied for second with Elon at two shots back of clubhouse leader Wofford. Troy's final round 298 tied with USC Upstate and App State for the low round of the day, while Wofford fell into a tie for fourth after a 310.
Bianca Lohbauer continued her hot spring as she tied for seventh place overall after shooting 3-over for the week thanks to an even-par 72 in Monday's final round. She has now played six of her last nine rounds within three shots of par.
Sarah Harrison and Antonia Poate tied for 11thplace overall at 5-over par. Poate carded a 4-over 76 on Monday with a pair of birdies after carding six birdies in Sunday's opening round, while Harrison also had a pair of birdies and shot 5-over for the round.
Eva Fabricius-Bjerre shaved seven strokes off her opening round card to shoot 1-over on the day with three birdies as she tied for 26thplace. Lindsey Harrison dropped an eagle on the par-5 14thas she finished 6-over for the round and tied for 37thplace overall. Playing as an individual, Abby Parks tied for 79thplace after carding an 83 in the final round.
Troy wrapped the 36-hole event with its second-lowest two-round score of the season after turning in a card of 595, while the two rounds were the Trojans second and third consecutive sub-300 rounds dating back to the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate.
The Trojans travel to Macon, Ga., this weekend for the Brickyard Collegiate in their final tune up before the Sun Belt Championship (April 15-17).
