Women’s Tennis Hosts Alabama A&M for Senior Day

TROY, Alabama- The Troy women's tennis team (4-10) is set to play host to in-state foe Alabama A&M (3-6) on Friday at 2 p.m., at Lunsford Tennis Complex. Seniors Efriliya Herlina, Nancy Karaky, Sanae Ohta and Jiayuan Xue will be honored prior to the match.
After a seven-match road swing, the Trojans are excited to be returning home for their next two matches before closing out regular season and conference play in neutral territory.
Troy split its last two matches, as it fell to South Alabama 5-2, but bounced back to claim a big 4-3 victory over Georgia State. With the match tied at 3-3, freshman Pei Ju Hsieh clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court five.
Herlina leads the team with an 18-11 record this season and has gone 5-5 in dual match play. Ju Hsieh is undefeated in Sun Belt action, winning matches against UTA, ULM and Georgia State.
Troy will wrap up home play as it hosts Alabama State on Tuesday, March 3 at 3 p.m., before traveling to take on Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State in Atlanta.
